Our dinners will feature a rotating lineup of talented chefs from across the region, including Chef Careaga of Jezebel’s, an acclaimed Argentine restaurant and bakery in Philadelphia, and Chef Gerald Allen, known for his creative pop-up events throughout the Brandywine Valley and his work training future chefs at Hodgson Vocational Technical High School in Newark. These gatherings are more than just meals—they’re a celebration of community, connection, and the power of supporting local food and the people who grow and prepare it. As I stepped into retirement and closed the chapter on SIW Vegetables , I wasn’t sure what the future held for the beloved farm stand that has meant so much to me, my family, and this incredible community. Thanks to the dedication and passion of the Ramsey family and the launch of New Roots by Ramsey’s Farm , the stand was not only saved from closing — it’s thriving. Many of the same homegrown products and traditions you’ve come to expect are still here, alongside fresh energy and new ideas. The legacy lives on, and I couldn’t be more grateful. To everyone who supported this transition — thank you. Your visits, kind words, and continued patronage mean the world. I’m truly touched by how this community rallied around New Roots and embraced the next generation of local farming. They’ll be back in 2026, and I can’t wait to see what they grow next. We're also especially hopeful that the bridge construction will finally be complete by then — making it even easier to swing by the stand and support this hardworking family.
